The Elgin Area Historical Society Museum is housed in Old Main, an Elgin landmark building on the grounds of Elgin Academy. The Museum showcases interactive exhibits in five main areas: Settlement, Architecture, the Elgin National Watch Company, the Elgin Road Races, and the Hiawatha Pageant. The Museum also has a local history research library and a meeting room available for non-profit organizations. Contact the staff to schedule field trips and/or group tours.
